Security Alert: Volunteer Data Protection Notice

Dear Valued Volunteers, We are writing to inform you that a cybersecurity incident was detected on 20 May 2026 at 8:50 a.m., involving “Volunteers Management System” (mrcscommunity.org.my). The incident may have involved an unauthorised access to certain volunteer data. Following the detection of the incident, MRC took immediate action to contain and investigate the matter. Additional security measures were also implemented to strengthen the system and reduce the risk of the same incident recurring. Further measures are being planned to tighten up the security. At this stage, there is no indication that any data has been misused. However, as a precaution, we recommend that you: * Remain vigilant for any suspicious emails, phone calls, text messages, or social media messages relating to your volunteer activities with MRC; * Be cautious of any requests for personal information such as NRIC numbers, passwords, banking details, or verification codes, especially if such requests appear unusual or suspicious; and * Update your password for any accounts that uses the same or similar password.
