5th Asia Pacific RCY Café - Mental Health and Psychological First Aid

Description

We are pleased to invite you to the 5th Asia Pacific RCY Cafe on 29th November! In the 5th Cafe, we will have 3 sessions as follows: Session 1: Learning We are delighted to invite the clinical psychologist from the Hong Kong branch of Red Cross Society of China, Ms Cherry Lin to talk about ‘mental health and psychological first aid’. During the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health, apart from physical health, is a great concern as many people suffer from mood disturbance and anxiety. We will thus learn what we should do to help people with mental distress as well as what we should do for self-care to maintain mental wellbeing. Some concepts of psychological first aid will also be introduced. Session 2: Breakout session Like the previous Cafés, we will divide participants into small groups to have more casual, interactive sharing. The breakout session will still focus on the overall theme of ‘Mental health’ and will cover the following topics; · Mental health, fear and stigma · self-assessment of mental health status · Coping strategies and stress management Session 3: Sharing After the breakout session, we will come back to one group and each small group will share their discussion/takeaways to all participants to learn more from other groups.
